THIRD PART OF NEW HOLDEN SMALL CARS REVEALED

THIRD PART OF NEW HOLDEN SMALL CAR RANGE REVEALED

The technology-laden and feature-rich, Holden Astra Sportwagon completes the variants available from the award-winning model line when the new bodyshape goes on sale on November 1.

Powered by a 1.4-litre powertrain coupled with a six-speed transmission and fuel saving stop/start technology across the range, the new Sportwagon is loaded with passive and active safety features. Sportwagon by Astra is available in LS specification from $35,990, with a higher-specification LT priced from $39,990.

“The arrival of the new Astra Sportwagon is the icing on the cake of what is proving to be a very popular range of new small cars,” said Holden New Zealand General Managing – Marketing, Marnie Samphier. “Astra has an incredibly high pedigree, one which started with success in Europe when it was recognised as the European Car of the Year in 2016. There is now an Astra solution for every scenario, ranging from the Hatch, to the Sedan and now the cavernous Sportwagon. They’re very complementary to each other, as all offer superb driving dynamics and all-roungood looks but fulfil a number of different requirements in their own way.”

Key to the appeal of the new Sportwagon is a remarkably functional interior, one which can provide more than 1,600-litres of boot space, while an impressive array of safety systems includes Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert in addition to a Rear View Camera.

Astra Sportwagon’s technology also extends beyond safety with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, hands-free power tailgate and passive entry/push-button start all combining for ultimate driver convenience.

All three Astra models will also come with Holden Customer Care, which from October 1 consists of 3 years free certified servicing in addition to 3 years roadside assistance, 3 years warranty and complimentary warrant of fitness (WOF).

“This enhancement to our Complete Care programme has elevated Holden to a leadership position when it comes to such initiatives amongst mainstream brands,” said Ms Samphier. “It not only provides Holden drivers with outstanding peace of mind, but also removes all the uncertainty and worry associated with regular servicing costs and, pleasingly, is also transferable with the vehicle from one owner to the next.”
